ERDC
European Retinal Disease Consortium
The Sharon group is part of the European Retinal Disease Consortium (ERDC- http://www.erdc.info) that consists of 15 research groups, 13 from Europe (The Netherlands, Spain, France, Italy, Great Britain, Switzerland, Belguim, and Germany), one from Canada, and one from the USA. ERDC scientists meet at least twice a year aiming to enhance collaborations on the genetics of inherited retinal diseases. Below is a list of ERDC members and a link to the appropriate website of each member:

IRDDC
Israel Retinal Degenerative Disease Consortium
The Sharon group is part of IRDDC including genetic, electrophysiology, and bioinformatic units from various Israeli hospitals and universities, from Nazareth in the north to Be'er Sheva in the south. Funded by the Foundation Fighting Blindness, IRDDC scientists meet al least twice a year aiming to diagnose, recruit, and identify the genetic cause of disease in the vast majority of Israeli patients with inherited retinal diseases.
NNRL, NEI, NIH
The Sharon group collaborates with the Center of Neurobiology Neurodegeneration & Repair Laboratory (NNRL) headed by Prof. Anand Swaroop from National Eye Institute (NEI) at NIH. Funded by the BiNational US-Israel Science Foundation (BSF), our labs study the genetics of cone-dominated retinal diseases.
Ophthalmologists
The Sharon group collaborates with many Israeli ophthalmologists who refer patients to the study, and mainly with Prof. Eyal Banin, Director of Degenerative Diseases of the Retina and Macula Center, Dept. of Ophthalmology at Hadassah, who refered the vast majority of the >1400 families who participate in the study.
FAM161A sinergia
The Sharon group collaborates with the labs of Carlo Rivolta and Yvan Arsenijevic from the University of Lausanne on genetics, clinical, functional, and therapeutical aspcet of retinal degeneration caused by mutations in the FAM161A gene. This program is funded by the Swiss National Foundation.
